The Breaking Bread, Breaking Barriers Program provides 3 meals a day to the 70 men & women living at the Lewis Center and gives local businesses, church groups and private donors the opportunity to sponsor and/or serve meals to the 70 homeless men and women staying at the Senator Philip D. Lewis Center.

Sponsorships are not mandatory but when volunteer groups are unable to sponsor a meal our clients are fed the same meals that are served at the Palm Beach County Jail. Your sponsorship is greatly appreciated.

The Homeless Coalition operates a donation center at the Senator Philip D. Lewis Center.  It is the collection point for donations and resources and offers opportunities for those wishing to volunteer. We are always in need of dedicated volunteers to help sort & organize donations.

Volunteering at the Donation Center ensures homeless families & individuals have free access to items they need to start over. Items includes housewares, linens, toys, clothing, warm welcome kits, bikes, small appliances, small furniture and more. The donation center welcomes your donations of clothing and household items! We never charge a fee. Items you give to the Donation Center are free to homeless families & individuals in need. Our current needs include:

The Homeless Coalition fills gaps in funding by partnering with local service providers to cover first month’s rent, last month’s rent and security deposits to move homeless families & individuals off the street and into their own homes. We also provide funding for case management and a housing specialist who goal is identify safe, affordable housing for those looking to end their homelessness.
